Bringing Philanthropy Home
On behalf of our Community-Based Nonprofits
98% of nonprofits have budgets under $10 mm
If these vital community-led organizations are to get their fair share of the legacy wealth wave, they will need to collaborate with those who can help: Community Foundations, Faith Foundations, other Platform Providers, and Allied Advisors. This course brings these resources to the table.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Implement a team approach to legacy planning across our disciplines.
Help your best clients and donors bring their legacy home to their family and to the organizations they love, lead, and support.
Decide whether and how you will add “principal gifts” to your professional repertoire, whether you approach them as an advisor, volunteer, or nonprofit leader.

No prerequisites, but, ideally advisors will bring with them a recognized credential like JD, CPA, CFP, AEP, TEP, or CAP. For Nonprofits, it is helpful, but not required that you have already taken, Bringing Principal Gifts Home, and have determined that you do have at least a few principal gift prospects and that you would like to team up with qualified advisors to facilitate such gifts.
And Your Time Commitment
The online course is self-paced with short videos, readings, links, and reflections. You are asked to review this material prior to your Study Group meeting. You come to class every other week prepared to lend your professional perspective.
